Dr Rosalind Eeles PhD MA FRCP FRCR

Geneticist

Rosalind Eeles qualified in 1984 from Cambridge University and St Thomass Hospital, London.
In 2004, she was appointed a Reader in Clinical Cancer Genetics at The Institute of Cancer Research, and Honorary Consultant in Clinical Oncology and Cancer Genetics at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where she is Head of the Cancer Genetics Clinical Unit.
A clinician and scientist, Dr Eeles established the first research clinic for people with genes that predispose to breast and prostate cancer.

She was also the genetics lead on a major UK study of the role of MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) in breast screening in high-risk women, which led to a revision of the NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) guidelines in 2006.
